Richmond Real Estate: Choose Your Realtor Carefully
With the fast changing real estate market, picking a good realtor to work with is critical in selling your home. Realtors that specialize in a geographical location and housing types, or condominium buildings are more knowledgable in the homes they sell. Always make sure the realtor you choose has the specialty you need.
How do you find a good realtor?
Finding a realtor you like takes time. The best way to find a realtor is through recommendations through friends, family members and interview realtors. Ask for references from past clients, and most importantly, ask questions to find out how well they know the Richmond real estate market.
You can also find your local realtors the Internet, and local real estate websites like REaltyLink Online and MLS.ca. Some realtors may have their own websites you can browse to learn more about his or her business. A good realtor should be one that you can contact easily.
Things you should know as a seller
Besides making sure the realtor knows the Richmond real estate market, you should also find out what commission the agent will charge, and how he or she plan to sell you home. Interview at least 3 local realtos, and choose one you are comfortable to work with. And if the realtor is not living up to his promise, you can always cancel the listing contract. Just make sure before you list your home, you get the assurance (in writing) that you can cancel the listing without onditions.
Your Richmond realtor should be able to let you know the competitive market analysis showing your the current market value of your home. Discuss with your realtor the pricing strategy you should use.
When you are selling, use a realtor because realtors know the process and know how to sell. But, also be careful using a realtor that has too many listings to sell. You may not get the full attention and marketing efforts from you "busy realtor". This can be costly and stressful when you are not getting the dedication and commitment you expect from your Richmond realtor.
Other realtors may shy away from showing your home because they are not getting the prompt response from your "busy realtor".
Happy selling.
